Our longsword tournament, Maoz Zornhau 2025, has come to a conclusion!
Around 30 fighters and Israel’s first women’s nomination, judges, photographers and administrators, a lot of stress, hard work and of-course – the best fencing to be seen in Israel!
As always, we’d like to thank all who came, helped, supported, judged and fought – every such event is the result of a broad and deep cooperation between many people from various clubs, and would not have been possible without them. You are wonderful and we are very lucky to have you here.
This year we’ve also won two gold medals as a club – Arseniy Ermolenko, who finished 3rd last year and won first place this year, after hard fights with the best fencers in the country, and Svetlana Berelekhis, who fought well and tenaciously against women from other clubs and got gold! Kol HaKavod, we are very proud of both of you.

הסתיים טורניר "מעוז צורנהאו" לשנת 2025!
כ-30 לוחמים ולוחמות ומקצה הנשים הראשון בישראל, שופטים, צלמים ואנשי מינהלה, הרבה מתח, עבודה קשה וכמובן – לחימה ברמה הגבוהה ביותר שיש בישראל!
כמו תמיד, תודה רבה לכל מי שהגיע ותמך ועזר ושפט ונלחם – כל אירוע כזה הוא תוצר של שיתוף-פעולה ענף ורחב בין אנשים רבים במועדונים שונים, ולא היה אפשרי בלעדיהם. אתם נפלאים ויש לכולנו מזל שאתם כאן.
השנה גם סיימנו כמועדון עם שתי מדליות זהב – ארסני ירמולנקו, שסיים בשנה שעברה במקום ה-3 והשנה זכה במקום הראשון, אחרי קרבות קשים עם מיטב הסייפים בארץ, וסבטלנה ברלכיס שנלחמה בעוז ומיומנות מול נשים משאר המועדונים וזכתה במדליית הזהב! כל הכבוד לשניכם, אנחנו גאים בכם מאוד.

On 8.8 we had the pleasure of hosting Dmitry Usoltsev, a highly skilled fencer and instructor, for a seminar in Israel!
The seminar covered longsword fencing in both the German tradition of Joachim Meyer and the Italian tradition of Fiore dei Liberi, as well as sabre. Usoltsev shared many insights, explained important nuances and guided us through an intense day of training.
The day before, we welcomed him to our club for a sparring session, where he faced anyone who wished to cross blades. We repeated this at the end of the seminar as well. Learning through fighting has a distinct value, and we are grateful for every bout we had with him.
The day after the seminar, we enjoyed lectures on approaches for running and managing clubs and training sessions, and we hope to implement these lessons as well.
So, a huge thank-you to Dima for his time, knowledge and attention. We look forward to training with you again!
We would also like to thank our friends at Ministry of the Fence, especially Shahar and Alex, for letting us use their lovely hall, as well as Pavel Tarasov for his help in hosting Usoltsev.
This event was a success thanks to everyone who helped and participated, and we hope to host more events like this in the future.

ב-8.8 אירחנו את דמיטרי אוסולטסב, סייף ומורה מוכשר ביותר, לסמינר בישראל!
הסמינר כלל לחימה בחרב ארוכה על-פי המסורת הגרמנית של יואכים מאייר ועל-פי המסורת האיטלקית המאוחרת של פיורה דה-ליברי, וכמובן שגם סייבר. אוסולטסב חלק עימנו דגשים חשובים, הסביר ניואנסים והדריך אותנו במשך יום שלם.
יום לפני כן הגיע דמיטרי אלינו למועדון, שם נלחם עם כל מי שרצה בכך, וכך גם עשינו בסיומו של הסמינר. למידה דרך לחימה היא בעלת ערך מיוחד, ואנחנו שמחים שאוסולטסב הצליב איתנו חרבות.
ביום שאחרי הסמינר התקיימו הרצאות, שכללו עצות לניהול נכון של מועדוני הסיף והאימונים.
אז תודה רבה, דימה! אנחנו מצפים לפגוש אותך שוב.
נרצה לומר גם תודה לחברינו במשרד הסיף (וספציפית שחר ואלכס) על כך שנתנו לנו לקיים את הסמינר באולם היפה והגדול שלהם, ולפאבל טראסוב על העזרה באירוח של אוסולטסב.
האירוע היה הצלחה בזכות כל מי שעזר, הגיע והשתתף, ואנחנו מקווים לקיים אירועים נוספים כאלה בעתיד.
